Quadrilaterals ABCD and EFGH are shown in the coordinate plane. Determine congruence by selecting the ONE correct sequence of isometric transformations that maps ABCD onto EFGH. A. a translation of 3 units to the right, followed by a reflection across the x-axis. B. a translation of 12 units downward, followed by a reflection across the y-axis C. a reflection across the y-axis, followed by a reflection across the x-axis D. a reflection across the line with equation y = x
You can start this by looking at just one point Take point A - you can see that it corresponds wiht point E so take each of the transformations and apply it to point A (e.g a translation of 12 units downward, followed by a reflection across the y-axis will move point A first to y=-8 and then to x=+4 ) IF that translation moves Point A to co-incide with point E then this is probably the correct answer. You need to check one ogther point in the same way to make sure)
so c?
have you checked that it works for a number of points? If so then go with it.
i'm pretty sure :/ idk
just do what I said take point A, using answer C where will it be after reflection in y axis where will THAT point be after refletion in X axis is the result that A transforms to E? do the same for one of the other points....
