Sally has 5 bracelets and decides to wear 3 of them to school. How many ways can she choose 3 bracelets if the order she wears them in does not matter?

OpenStudy (escamer):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

123 132 213 231 312 321

OpenStudy (escamer):

yeah she is right ;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only options are 5 10 60 120...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

id go with 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry my bad one second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

123 132 145 154 153 152 142 143 134 135 125 124

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you have five bracelets, there are more than 6 different ways to choose three 123 124 125 132 134 135 142 143 145 152 153 154 213 214 215 231 234 235 241 243 245 251 253 254... Because I have shown there are 12 for each different starter bracelet. There are 5 different bracelets to start with. 5 * 12 = 60. therefore there are 60 different combinations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each one will have 12 so 12*5=60
