NEED HELP! Identify which table shows a direct variation. Two tables. For each table the column headings are x and y. Table 1 has column 1 values 3, 4.5, 7 and column 2 values 7.5, 11.25, 17.5. Table 2 has column 1 values 1.5, 8, 13 and column 2 values 3, 12, 19.5. A. both tables B. Table 1 only C. Table 2 only D. neither table https://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1418000_1418500/1418044/1/6f09e69b6fb92f6be38add43d83561102cc91a88/FGA_130919_161133.jpg

OpenStudy (freckles):

which table shows this kinda relation between y and x where k is a constant y=kx ?

OpenStudy (freckles):

do you know what 7.5/3 equals? and what 3/1.5 equals?

OpenStudy (freckles):

once you evaluate those: ask yourself if all the following are true equations these (x,y) come from table 1: \[7.5=\frac{7.5}{3} \cdot 3 \\ 11.25=\frac{7.5}{3} \cdot 4.5 \\ 17.5=\frac{7.5}{3} \cdot 7\] if all of these equations are the true then we do have y=kx for the first table which means the table shows a direct varition now on to second table are all of these true: \[3=\frac{3}{1.5} \cdot 1.5 \\ 12 =\frac{3}{1.5} \cdot 8 \\ 19.5=\frac{3}{1.5} \cdot 13\] again if these equations are all true then you have a direct variation for table 2
