Fill in the the blank to make the trinomial a perfect square trinomial. 16x^4-( )+1

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

any thoughts...?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

if not \[\sqrt{16x^4} = 4x^2\] double it to get the middle term...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it's 8x^2?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

this is an equation reducible to a quadratic. and that's what you need.... reading the question the negative in front would remain unchanged.

thank you
