Halp. Air is introduced into a piston-cylinder device through a 7 cm diameter flexible duct. The velocity and specific volume at the inlet at a given instant are measured as 22 m/s and 0.1722 m3/kg respectively. At the same time air jets out through a 7 mm-diameter leak with a density of 1.742 kg/m3, the piston rises with a velocity of 10 cm/s, and the mass of the air in the device increases at a rate of 0.415 kg/s. Determine (a) the mass flow rate (m⋅) of air at the inlet, and (b) the jet velocity.
