Huck Finn Multimedia Project Instructions

This project allows you to present your ideas about the novel in a creative format instead of in an essay.

Step 1: Before you begin the project, you must choose a theme from the novel to focus on. A few possible topic options include:

· Conflict between civilization and “natural life”
· Defining honor
· Religion/the mockery of religion
· Food and shelter
· Superstition
· Slavery and/or racial division
· The Mississippi River as a symbol
· Money and Class

Step 2: Complete the project outline (download it here.) You will submit this outline to the rough draft dropbox.

Step 3: Choose acreative visual format to produce your project, and submit your presentation to the final draft dropbox at the end of the unit. Here are just a few examples of possible programs you can use:

· Powerpoint Presentation (If you’re stuck, you can use the template I provided here to help guide each slide.)
· Video software such as MovieMaker or iMovie
Project Requirements:

· Introduction (Thesis Statement/Theme)
· 5-6 Artifacts. An artifact can be either a quote from the novel or a picture that represents the main idea. Sound and video clips can also be used as artifacts.
· Each artifact must include an explanatory paragraph (Minimum 4 sentences.)
· Conclusion (Identify the theme/Restate the thesis.)
