with what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Nnesha

OpenStudy (word2):

that's right

OpenStudy (mia30700):

what do you think the answer is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

180 minutes

OpenStudy (mia30700):

Let's use the rate equation distance = rate *time except here distance is how many pools completed , which is 1 pool. rate_in = rate of water entering the pool rate_out = rate of water exiting the pool we get two equations 1 pool= rate_in * 120 minutes 1 pool = (rate_in - rate_out)* 360 minutes from the first equation we solve rate_in = 1/120 pool/min plug this into second equation 1 = (1/120 - rate_out ) * 360 solve for rate_out rate_out = 1/180 pool/min now answer the question 1 pool = 1/180 pool/min * ( time in minutes) 1/ (1/180) = time

OpenStudy (mia30700):

so your answer would be 180 minutes

OpenStudy (word2):

the answer is 180 ._.
