1. Explain why earths and other planet’s where not solid when they formed during the beginning of the Precambrian approximately 4,600 million years ago (MYA) what was this particular time period called, and why is this time period not really considered a part of earth’s geological history?

The earth is NOT solid, even now. We live on a thin crust under which is a molten mass of liquid rock several thousand miles thick. I do not think there are ANY truly solid planets in our solar system. We're not 100% sure of course, since we have not actually been to any of them.
