@Directrix

Directrix (directrix):

The slope is correct. Now for the y-intercept.

Directrix (directrix):

y = 1/2 * x - 5 To get the y-intercept, the x coordinate has to be 0/ y = 1/2 * 0 - 5 y = -5 -5 is the y intercept

Directrix (directrix):

Also, if the equation of a line is written in the y = mx + b form as this one is. y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y intercept y = (1/2)x - 5 Then you could write b = -5 as the y intercept. The coordinates of the intercept are ( 0 , - 5)

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

I was thinking that too

Directrix (directrix):

Right. I wanted you to see two ways to get it.
