Please help!!!!! Predict: Presents of lipids in these substances. ~Gelatin yes/no ~Skim Milk yes/no ~Apple juice yes/no ~Ritz Crackers yes/no Explain WHY you predicted that the substance/s you chose above would test positive for lipids. Be sure to include the definition of a lipid, and then explain why the substance relates to that definition.

Sorry I was eating, I can help now
its okay :)
so what are you making here? just the bottom half?
i need both answers to be answered. ive been stuck on this problem all day.
Okay
Lipids are a group of naturally occurring molecules that include fats, waxes, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins (such as vitamins A, D, E, and K), monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides, phospholipids, and others.
Do you think Gelatin will have lipids?
no
Okay, so that's your first, We'll start making a list as we go.
What about skim milk?
i think so
Okay, so right no your list is 1. Gelatin- No 2. Skim Milk- Yes
Can you continue with the other items?
yes
Okay, type out your list and let me see when you're done :)
apple juice yes ritz crackers yes
Okay so Gelatin- no Skim Mile- Yes Juice- Yes Crackers- Yes
yup
Okay so now explain why you said you didn't think Gelatin wouldn't have Lipids but The milk, crackers, and juice would
im so confuse with bilogy thats y im failing
i just need to get the assignment done i finally thought i had it yesterday and got a f
Okay, so why don't you think Gelatin has lipids? What makes you think it's lipid free?
gelatin does have lipids?
That isn't what I'm saying, I'm asking why you say there isn't any lipids in Gelatin. Its not looking for a yes there is lipids or no there isn't, the question is asking why you think there isn't lipids
idk the answer to that?
nar, why did you say there isn't lipids and Gelatin?
because there isnt
You need more detail
theres no fat
why do you say that? What makes you believe there is no fat? Is there waxes or sterols, or vitamins such as A, D, E, or K?
it won't open Nar, can you Screenshot it?
the question is at the bottom of the page
yes
Okay give me a minute I'll brb
Alright
Okay back
ok
Okay so Why did you say there was no lipids at all in gelatin? Is there any fats, waxes, sterols, or vitamins like A, D, E, and K?
Same question with the other substances, why did you say there would be lipids in skim milk, crackers, and Apple juice
gelatin has none of those substances so is that my answer?
the other 3 are yes because they have fat etc is that also an answer?
Yeah I guess that would work
is that what u would do
Uhm, yes but I would explain why. Like crackers have lots of fat in them due to the ingredients such as all the buttery substances. Apple juice has vitamins because of the natural fruit and the additive would probably give it some fats. Skim milk doesn't have vitamins A, D, E, or K, so i would've said no on that one. Gelatin I would've said yes to Gelatin because it is waxy and definitely has a wax texture.
then you need the definition of a lipid, I commented that earlier in the post
wow well said.see im not good at explaining things so yeah. Thank you alot :)
No problem
Then basically you'd say that skim milk does not have those vitamins. Gelatin has a waxy texture Ritz Crackers is kinda of buttery which is fatty And apple juice has natural vitamins and additives.
and then you're done :)
Alright sorry for all the work i had you help me with today lol. your a big help
No problem, I love to help :) That's why I'm a tutor :)
