Could someone read over a paragraph I have written for an essay of mine? Will Medal

This bit of my essay is comparing before and after the US Constitution... anything else I can add to make it sound better? It having been a new nation, a national government had to be made. Establishing a new government would take time and lots of dedication; but with just that the United States Constitution had been developed. With little exaggeration the US Constitution is by far the most important document ever to be written. Not only the most important document ever to be written, but in my opinion one of the most important events in U.S. History. A new Constitution provided us with freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to protest, the right to bear arms and its amendments meant to protect us. Before declaring independence from the British we had no rights. The government could seize your property and enforce excess taxes for no reason.
