You didn't answer the question Natalie is asking though. You already know that you have 12 boys and 24 girls. So yes, 36 students altogether. So now, you can make some more statements. Such as, the ratio of girls to boys is 2:1 OR the ratio of boys to girls is 1:2. Do you understand why? You could also say that there is half as many boys in the class as there are girls.
