a contractor charges $273 to tile a 120-square foot patio. The contractor charged a customer $539 to tile a patio under this same pricing plan. What was the area of the patio that was tiled? a.1070 sq ft. b.494 sq ft. c. 341 sq ft. d.260 sq ft.

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Well to start off, you would divide 539 by 273, so what would that give you?

hint to a tile

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

Well, dividing 539 by 273 will give the multiplier difference from which the new patio has regarding sq. feet.

r u there ?

hello

OpenStudy (ghostgate):

I tried to figure out the problem and I'm not sure what is wrong, normally you would do as I suggested, you would divide 539 by 273, but that gives you a number that once multiplied against 120, it doesn't really add to one of the answers that are shown, the closest it gets to is D, but... I can't really help you other than that. I hope this helps in someway! Have a great day! ;) {---Ghostgate---}
