Please help I'll fan and medal //Which statements accurately describe the social structure of the Spanish colonies? Choose all answers that are correct. A. The social structure became more flexible as lower classes gained wealth and power. B. People of Spanish descent born in America were called Creoles and rarely obtained jobs with the government. C. Those who came from Spain, peninsulares, held all the power and wealth and the best positions in the colonies. D. Native peoples suffered from prejudice because they refused to work as hard as the Creoles did.
E. Mixed race people called Mestizo were free but usually poor.
My guesses are C and E
Spanish colonial society was divided into a caste system. Peninsulares were the wealthy, elite and regarded themselves higher than everyone else because they were born in Spain. Creoles were the middle class, and were often born in Latin America. However, they were sometimes raised in Europe where they picked up on many of the Enlightenment ideas. Mulattos were at the bottom of the society structure and were those made up of mixed European and African heritage. Enslaved peoples were also Mulattos, and people in this class tended to be very poor.
Thank you so much that really helps
Glad to help.
So from this information what might the answers be? I'm still a bit unsure
