6 digited passwords will be formed by using the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. If the last digit is 8, the 1st digit must be 1. How many different passwords can be formed? Answer: 233472 I need a full solution, please!!!

imqwerty (imqwerty):

ok so total combinations= total combinations in which 8is at the last place and 1 at 1st place + total ways in which 8 is not at the last place note that we can repeat the numbers in our combinations :)

imqwerty (imqwerty):

ur facing prblm in which part?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really have no idea :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the last digit is 8 --- 6.6.6.6=1296 possibilities am i right

imqwerty (imqwerty):

No u can also fill those four places with 1 and 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 8.8.8.8=4096 if not 8 --- 8.8.8.8.8.7=229376 if we add both 233472

imqwerty (imqwerty):

yes :) correct
