A force of friction of 3.2N acts on a 1.1kg puck while its sliding along a horizontal surface. If the intial velocity of the puck was 7.5 m/s, how far will the puck travel before coming to rest?

There is no applied force correct?

OpenStudy (matt101):

Correct. Since friction is the only force acting on the puck, it's also the NET force. You're given the net force and a mass, meaning you can calculate acceleration. You can calculate distance using acceleration and the other information provided in the question with this equation: \[v_f^2=v_i^2+2ad\]

Thank you Matt!
