How to solve this equation?
\[3.00 % =\frac{ x }{ 125 }x100%\]
\[3.00percent =\frac{ x }{ 125 }100 percent \]
I get 3.75 but the answer key says its 0.375
move the decimal place over 1
like 3.00 becomes 30.0 and 100 becomes 1000?
yeah but move it over to the left instead of right
that still gives me 3.75 not 0.375
wait move it over two times to the left so that the . is in front of the 3
why?
so the question is solve the following for x: \[3.00\%=\frac{x}{125}100\%\]
?
like the original question?
How many grams of solute are present in 125 grams of a 3.00% salt solution? We still use the formulas and solve for the missing value.
formula
@freckles
you are right 3.75 should be the answer \[125 \text{ g solution } \cdot \frac{3 \text{ g NaCl }}{100 \text{ g solution}} \\ =125 \cancel{g solution} \cdot \frac{3 \text{ g NaCl}}{100 \cancel{\text{g solution}}} \\ =\frac{125 \cdot 3 }{100 } \text{ g NaCl } \\ \\ =\frac{375}{100 } \text{ g NaCl} \\ =3.75 \text{ g NaCl}\]
oh and sodium chloride aka NaCl is salt
Maybe it was a typo or my teacher's mistake lol.
she had .375 right ?
yeah
