A soccer ball is kicked with a velocity of 8 m/s at an angle of 23. What is the ball's acceleration in the vertical direction as it flies through the air?

I hope by 23 u mean, 23 degrees

It's a very simple question. The data doesn't matter. You were asked about vertical acceleration. |dw:1445873999307:dw| The ball follows a projectile motion as above. Since it has a velocity of 8m/s, and if air resistance is neglected, there will be no horizontal component of acceleration. But there will be an acceleration due to gravity, which acts downward vertically. So the vertical acceleration is 9.8m/s^2, or g (also 10m/s^2, sometimes assumed for easy calculations)
