can anyone check these answers - probability
@amistre64
ok, ive reviewed it, now can you tell me your thought process that led you to the solutions you chose?
aww so there are some wrong? lol
not saying if they are right or wrong yet, but i want to know why you did what you did :)
so for P(A) i used (0.28+0.09+0.04+0.07)
P(B)= 0.52+0.28+0.09
and i say false because P(A) and P(B) overlap
you did very well then :) i agree with your conclusions
thank u soo much! can u check one more?
perhaps
@amistre64 are u looking at it? :)
im drawing up a table ... and working some calculations im not familiar with working with the specifity and sensitivity numbers, but here is what i get
.9985a + .006b = .01, .0015a + .994b = .99
i'm pretty sure the ones before are right. im just not sure about the last on tho. the multiple choice one
can you tell me how you worked your solutions?
is this one correct: This conditional probability tells us how likely it is that someone has HIV if that randomly chosen person has received a positive test result.
?
your conditional question sounds good to me, the likelihood that they have HIV given that they were randomly selected form those who test +
just for clarification, my table got mixed around and is not accurate :)
no worries! i actually submitted it and it was correct. thanks for your help :)
:) youre welcome
