Hey guys, I am having a lot of trouble with Geometry. I am in Connections Academy and will be taking my unit 2 lesson 10 Tools of Geometry test soon. I have gone trough each lesson thoroughly and taken notes but i still do not understand. Can someone please help me? I have to many questions to remember them all, I was hoping somebody who has seen or taken the test can help me through what all the lessons and the test in this unit covered and help me with my questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill be able to help that depends on which kinds of geometry your trying to learn. @kay2015

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Nets and Drawings for Visualizing Geometry 2. Points, Lines, and Planes 3. Measuring Segments 4. Measuring Angles 5. Exploring Angles 6. Basic Constructions 7. Midpoint and Distance in the Coordinate Plane 8. Perimeter, Circumference, and Area These are the names of all the lessons leading up to the test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whats the questions that you need help on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't want to cheat. I am interested in learning it better. I literally understand very little about it and I have gone through each lesson. I don't remember all the questions i have because there is a lot. I was hoping maybe someone could like give me a review test or explain what I might need to expect to see on the test.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will give out medals for people who help me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You want practice tests of each section so you can learn about the math. Then you want help figuring out the problems that your stuck with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It just doesn't make sense, the way the lessons are set up, to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you look at presentation that might help you with these sections or do you want to to practice with the problems on the slides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or how do you want to go about this problem your having.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The practice problems i would think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like one thing i do not understand is isometric drawing. I know what it is but i never can get the answer right when i try to solve it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you want me to show you an example then you try to figure it out then I'll be able to help you if your stuck?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

this is a really good side with interactives that show a geometric properties with explanations. http://www.mathopenref.com/ hope it helps with improving your understanding.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for those slides, they will help me a great deal @Austin1617 and so will the website @campbell_st. Do you mind if i post a few questions and you help me solve them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I don't mind.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given the segment with endpoints A and B, what figure can you construct using the steps below? Step 1: Put the compass point on a and draw a long arc. Be sure the opening is grater than 1/2AB Step 2: With the compass on the same setting, put the compass point on B and draw another long arc. Label the points where the two arcs meet as X and Y Step 3: Draw XY. Label the point of intersection of AB and XY as M, and the midpoint of AB

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Was that all was given to you in this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah lol. I don't even know where to start to solve it.

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

Is there any choices for the answers?

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

Do you still need help if you do your supposed to draw a shape ab<+m+>xy It looks better drawn on a paper

OpenStudy (anonymous):

options are a perpendicular bisector, a congruent segment, an angle bisector, and a congruent angle

OpenStudy (stylesprettygirl):

congruent angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you should go on Khan Academy. You can either go on the site or download the app. It will teach you everything for free. I think you'll find it very useful.

OpenStudy (ihelpyoulearn):

@Kay2015 I go to Connections Academy (5th-9th grade). Do you still need help understanding? Like @LYRA_Z mentioned, Khan Academy offers a lot of great help! If getting help from someone who has experienced the lessons would be easy I can offer you help as well :) If you still need help @Kay2015 just tag me and I will help!

OpenStudy (starswirl):

:o @IHelpYouLearn i do too! Im in 8th grade. :)

OpenStudy (ihelpyoulearn):

Starswirl that's awesome! Connections is great!
