Write the slope-intercept (y = mx + b) form of the equation from the information given.
~~Slope equals 2 and the line goes through the point (-1, 3)
Can someone please show me how to do this?

OpenStudy (dayakar):
in y=mx+b which one is slope ?
OpenStudy (dayakar):
r u there
OpenStudy (abbycross167):
Sorry I was on a different tab... m is the slope right?
OpenStudy (dayakar):
very good m=2 given
OpenStudy (dayakar):
now we have to find b for that (x,y) =(-1,3) given
substitute these values in the equation

ok so now what? @dayakar
OpenStudy (dayakar):
what do u get
OpenStudy (abbycross167):
y = 2x + 5 ? @dayakar
OpenStudy (abdullahm):
y = 2x + b
we need to solve for b, so we plug in the point (-1,3)
So...
3 = 2(-1) + b
Solve for b :)
OpenStudy (abdullahm):
@abbycross167 that is correct :)
