OpenStudy (chris215):

Is the function continuous?

OpenStudy (freckles):

find the limit as x approaches from right of 3 and from the left of 3

OpenStudy (freckles):

that is check to see if 5(3)+1 is equal to 3^2+7

OpenStudy (freckles):

if they are equal then the function is continuous at x=3 if they aren't equal then the function isn't continuous at x=3 note: it is definitely continuous everywhere else since both bits are polynomials

OpenStudy (chris215):

ohh ok theyre continuous at x=3

OpenStudy (freckles):

yep so it is continuous everywhere the only real question here was "is it continuous at x=3" and the answer is yes

OpenStudy (chris215):

thank you!

OpenStudy (freckles):
