WILL GIVE MEDAL! Why did Crusaders go to the northern part of Jerusalem to attack the city? Bordering the Dead Sea on the north side, made that part of Jerusalem was the easiest for armies to reach. The north had a large area of trees that provided camouflage for the approaching army. The north is the flattest part of Jerusalem's landscape, which made it easier for the army to invade. There are no mountains for the armies to cross in the north like there are in the other regions of the city.
