4b+6=-2

OpenStudy (xmistermayhem):

You're trying to solve for b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah!

OpenStudy (xmistermayhem):

Okay, so with these kinds of problems. First move over what you can add/subtract. So take the 6 and subtract it from "4b + 6" as well as "-2"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to subtract 6 on both sides to make it equal and divide 4 by whatever u get for 6-2

OpenStudy (xmistermayhem):

Well, if you come back online: You'd cancel out "6" on both sides. To cancel out, you have to do the opposite of what the problem says, on both sides of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4b+6=-2 4b=-6-2 4b=-8 b=-8/4 b=-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you switch your sign when you put one number to ze uzzer side
