Why did so many families in Brazil need their children to work instead of attend school in the 1990s?

Because in the 1990's an economic failure came about, basically like the Great Depression which hit the world and the U.S. like a train.

Well just like the U.S. they needed to become more productive .-. and wanted to earn more money. So they needed their children to help them make more money to support the family
