Tim has 5² boxes. There are 5¹ kg of apples apple in each box. When empty, a box weighs 5-² kg. How many kilograms of apples does Michael have in all ? PLZZZ !!!! HELPPP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

Weight of apple = total box - weight of boxes ok?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

Weight of apple = total weight (box and apples) - weight of boxes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm confused @superdavesuper

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

Sorry @Halia I just re-read ur Q n I was confused too! lol The right answer is from this "Tim has 5² boxes. There are 5¹ kg of apples apple in each box" So each box has 5 kg of apples and there are 5² = 5x5 = 25 boxes. Total weight of apples = weight of apples in 1 box x total no. of boxes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty @superdavesuper so my final answer is 25 kg ?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

errr @Halia not exactly.... Plz follow this again: " So each box has 5 kg of apples and there are 5² = 5x5 = 25 boxes. Total weight of apples = weight of apples in 1 box x total no. of boxes"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But the total weight isn't given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@superdavesuper

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

correct - total weight is not given n u need to calculate it :) so what is weight of apples in 1 box x total no. of boxes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25 kg ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@superdavesuper

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

weight of apples in 1 box = 5kg

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

there are 5² = 5x5 = 25 boxes so the ans is....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

25x5 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

125

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

BINGO - u got it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty THANKKKKK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH !!! FOR your help :) really appreciated it As you can see math isn't my strength ); so I'm not very good at it

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

Nah u work it out urself, @Halia Keep trying n u will get better....trust me ;) n there are plenty of helpful ppl on OS here!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah your right :)
