Which step is important in comparing a list of decimal values? A. Making sure that each decimal repeats B. Making sure that each decimal terminates C. Correctly dividing the numerator by the denominator D. Making sure each decimal has enough decimal places to accurately compare them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first two don't make any sense to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's C or D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C is usually the right answer but you don't divide decimals, they are just decimals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would go with D i wouldn't bet more than $7 on it, but it looks best definitely a math teacher question 'have to read their minds

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

So, the logic in me agrees with C, but the math in the US is a pain leads me to D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah.....this is complicated math

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

em, strike that. Since the division is only necessary with fractions, I'm going with D final answer

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

and Sat, I was definitely thinking this is a generated test problem some bad teacher gave haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm ok

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ok, I have an example to support my answer. If you were comparing 1/3 and .33333333333333333333333333333333333333339, you would need to go all the way out to where that 9 is in places. Otherwise, upon comparison, they would appear the same
