My answers were 1. 34-6x^2, 21x^4/3y 2. 4 is the degree of the polynomail I had someone else help me with this question but got it wrong.

Directrix (directrix):

Did you subtract (29x^2 - 7 ) from (21x^4 + 3y - 6x^2 + 34) ?

Directrix (directrix):

(21x^4 + 3y - 6x^2 + 34) - (29x^2 - 7 ) = @Austin1617

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it 21x^4-35x^2+3y+41 @Directrix ?

Directrix (directrix):

That is what the "Wolf" says. Let's test the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the "Wolf"

Directrix (directrix):

The "Wolf" says yes to the answer for the first part of the question. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%28+21x%5E4+%2B+3y+-+6x%5E2+%2B+34%29+-+%2821x%5E4-35x%5E2%2B3y%2B41%29

Directrix (directrix):

First degree polynomial means that the 21x^4 and the -6x^2 have to go because they are fourth degree and second degree terms, respectively. The 3y is a degree 1 term. The 34 is of understood degree zero. We can keep it.
