please help 5a-2b=-7 -5a+6b=9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that two problems or?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its one problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you want the answer or do you want me to explain it to you?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both please... im not that good at math T.T

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright look we would need a graph for this so let just this website explain it to you. If you still don't get it tell me so i can help you further understand it.(: http://www.tiger-algebra.com/drill/5a-2b=-7;-5a_6b=9/

OpenStudy (triciaal):

ok let me jump in @PrincessHush

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you @PrincessHush

OpenStudy (triciaal):

@That1BlackGuy there are about 4 different ways to solve simultaneous equations. Graphing as indicated by @PrincessHush is one of them but for this question the easiest to use would be elimination because the coefficients of one of the variables is already equal and opposite

OpenStudy (triciaal):

add the 2 equations you will eliminate one variable. you now have one equation with one unknown. solve for this variable then substitute the value in either of the original to find the value of the other variable.

OpenStudy (triciaal):

remember the solution to a simultaneous equation is the (x,y) set that satisfies both equations at the same time.
