can you put it in your own word though please @AlexandervonHumboldt2

Because of temperature, rocks may expand and contract. This is the important cause of mechanical weathering. Heat makes the rock expand. Ice may contact the rocks. Because of wind and water rocks rub against each other and break each other in smaller pieces.

* Temperature change => Temperature changes make rocks expand and contract. And it's one of the important cause of mechanical weathering. When the sun warms up the surface of a rock, the heat causes it to expand. Rainwater enters the cracks in the rock, and if the temperature drops below freezing, the water in the cracks freezes and expand, causing rocks to split. Also, extreme heat causes the earth to dry and rocks to contract, If the rocks expand and contract on a daily basis, they will eventually crack open due to the stress. * Water Abrasion => Wind and moving water cause rocks to rub against each other and the rocks could well break into smaller pieces. Wind and water can polish , smooth, scrape, and flatten sides of rocks. Water can cause major changes on the earths surface. On the coast, ocean waves crashing shores can break down the coastal material.
