OpenStudy (radar):

Solve for y for each of the x values of -3, and 4. Then solve for the change that y made with those two values of x. then divide the cange of y by the change in x, note that x went from a -3 to a + 4 or a change of 7.

OpenStudy (radar):

\[y _{1}=2(-3) + 2 = -6 + 2 = 4\]\[y _{2}=2(4)+2=8+2=10\]Now you can calculate the change in y

OpenStudy (radar):

Solve by calculating the change of y divided by change of x\[\Delta y \over \Delta x\]

OpenStudy (chris215):

6/7 ?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Small miscalculation on y1:\[y _{1}=2(-3) + 2 = -6 + 2 = \color{orangered}{-}4\]

OpenStudy (radar):

Thanks @zepdrix, just goes show that you must also check the work of the helper......I messed up with signs.
