Add 1/2 + 3/4+ 1/2=

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

first we need to make denominators equal. 1/2+3/4+1/2=2/4+3/4+2/4=(2+3+2)/4=7/4

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

or 0.50 + 0.75 + 0.50 = 1.75 = 1 3/4

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

yeah

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You can also do this: \(\dfrac{1}{2} + \dfrac{3}{4} + \dfrac{1}{2} =\) \(= \dfrac{1}{2} + \dfrac{1}{2}+ \dfrac{3}{4} \) Notice that 1/2 + 1/2 = 1, so we have \(= 1+ \dfrac{3}{4} \) \(= 1\dfrac{3}{4} = \dfrac{7}{4}\)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

same thing...just depends if you want it in fraction form or decimal form
