OpenStudy (peterg2001):

Read the excerpt and answer the question. I suppose that futile waiting was the sorrowful background music of our impoverished little community when I was young. What is the author most likely suggesting about Lizabeth in this excerpt? She always had a radio playing. She hoped to hear different kinds of music. She felt that hopelessness was a constant in her life. She believed her neighbors liked music more than other people.

i'm not allowed to give you an an answer

OpenStudy (peterg2001):

ok then message it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i can ask you, what does Lizabeth's mindset when she thinks relates her waiting to the "music" of her poor community as a child

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this "music" is not actual music

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it appears to be a simile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

even from not reading the story, i can assume that she is waiting for something that she dosnt depressing or sad, or she just have lost hope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but just to make sure, what is she waiting for?
