OpenStudy (<3pandas18):

how did the geography of rome cause its own down fall?

OpenStudy (surana):

The country thought it was a good idea to stretch it's territory way too far for it's own good. A bunch of violent rebellions and a few hundred barbarian tribes smacking around things later, Rome fell.

OpenStudy (<3pandas18):

some barbarian tribes such as the hun people?

OpenStudy (surana):

The Roman Empire didn't stretch that far. The Huns were more "fight the Chinese Mulan-style".

OpenStudy (surana):

More like the Goths/Gauls are what you're looking for.

OpenStudy (<3pandas18):

ok so let me get this right. The geography of Rome affected it down fall because they stretched their territory to the point of invading "barbarian territory" as well causing issues and conflicts thus the downfall of rome?

OpenStudy (surana):

Pretty much. Evidently, a bunch of barbarians really, really don't like it when you invade their home and try and put rules on them.

OpenStudy (<3pandas18):

oh ok well thank you very much!!!!

OpenStudy (surana):

You're welcome.
