563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well you are Correct xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct! It is A!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All of the other have 2 or more parallel side!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help with more

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Sure!

Gene wrote this equation for the area of a rectangle. 26.4w = 285.12. What is the width (w) of this rectangle? A. 10.8 units B. 11.0 units C. 258.7 units D. 7527.2 units

563blackghost (563blackghost):

To find the width you would divided the area by the length.....\[285.12 / 26.4 = width\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is a

563blackghost (563blackghost):

You are correct xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which expression could be used to calculate the area of this square? A. a B. C. 2a D. a2

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well to calculate the area of a square you would multiply the width and length but a square has equal sides so the numbers would be the same so it would be...\[a^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The area of a square is 121 square meters. What is the length of one side of this square? A. 14,641 m B. 11 m C. 60.5 m D. 12.1 m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is c

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Not quite. Remember to find the area of a square you mulitpy the length and width to get the area so a number multiplying itself to equal the area since the length and width of a square are the same....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to divide by 4

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Well you would have to square root 121 to find a number that multiplies itself to equal 121

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kinda

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Or you can multiply each answer choice by itself to get the answer....thats the simpler way....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is the answer b or d

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Its actually B because 11 x 11 is equal to 121

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im going to close the question and post other

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Alrighty....i actually have to go but glad i was able to help....if you ever see me on and need help just tag me...
