Which equation represents a linear function? Equation 1: y3 = 2x + 1 Equation 2: y = 3x + 1 Equation 3: y = 5x^2 − 1 Equation 4: y = 4x^4 − 1 Equation 1 Equation 2 Equation 3 Equation 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and with equation 1 y3 is y^3

OpenStudy (mrnood):

any equation that has both Y and X without exponents (i.e. not x^3 or x^-3 for instance) and is just numbers (i.e. not fuctions like sin, log etc.) is a straight line (i.e. linear function)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be equation 2
