OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

Relationship A has a greater rate than Relationship B. The table represents Relationship B. Which equation could represent Relationship A? Choose all answers that are correct. Hours worked 2 4 5 8 Amount paid ($) 30.40 60.80 76 121.60

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

A.y=14.9x B.y=15.2x C.y=15.4x D.y=16.4x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

are those exponents?

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we get people posting bad notation all the time .... 2x .. does this represent multiplication, or 2 to the power of x?

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

I think it is c and d

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well without knowing if we are doing: \[2(x)~or~2^x\] i dont think id be able to help, after all ... 2(8) is not the same as 2^8

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

please im just checking my answers am I wrong?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i dont know .. if i cant read the problem then i cant tell if your answers are correct

OpenStudy (amistre64):

best guess, is see if the values for x are bigger than the table values of B

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

ok ... whats the problem.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the problem is ... im not able to discern if 2x means: 2(x) or 2^x people post bad notation on here all the time so clarification is needed.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if its multiplication, then id agree with C and D ... if its exponents, then 14.9^2 = 222.01 would be valid ....

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

ok ill see @amistre64

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

im doing multiplication @amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then C and D produce higher values for x, then the table offers.

OpenStudy (vickyisthesmartone123):

ok, thank you amistre it is about slopes and stuff

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good :)
