can someone help me? What is the solution for the equation 6x − 8 = 4x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Move 6x to the RHS of the equation and simplify. -8 = -2x Divide each side by -2 . 4 = x The answer is mathematically correct but not in traditional class room order.
