Diffusion is when water is transferred through a plant. carbon is transferred from water to the atmosphere. cells are shifted throughout the organism. molecules pass from low concentration to high concentration. I thought it was D for a moment, then i read closer. It woul go from high concentration to low. So would it be A?

I believe the correct answer is D) Molecules pass from the low concentration to high concentration Maybe this will help: http://lifeofplant.blogspot.com/2011/10/cells-and-diffusion.html

OpenStudy (matt101):

I'll start by saying the answers they give are terrible. Diffusion refers to the process by which molecules move from HIGH concentration to LOW concentration (i.e. along a concentration gradient). None of the answers really get at this directly...but you can make some kind of work into this definition. D is absolutely wrong because it's the opposite of diffusion. B makes no sense because water doesn't contain carbon. C is probably wrong because I don't really feel diffusion is an appropriate way to describe cell movements. That leaves A...which is a bad answer because it isn't very specific, but it may be referring to spontaneous movement of water within a plant due to diffusion rather than active transport or some other form of movement. I'd go with A, but like I said the answers are pretty bad...
