What is the scale factor of the dilation (with center at the origin) if point E (5,3) becomes E' (15,9) ? PLZZZ HELP !

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

divide the x or y coordinate of new point by x or y coordinate of old point: 15/5=3 9/3=3 the dilation factor is 3.

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

there are 2 methods:1st divide x coordinate of new point by x coordinate of old point 2nd divide y coordinate of new point by y coordinate of old point
