A golfer is 40.8 m away from the green and swings so that the ball has an initial velocity of +20.0 m/s. Which of the following angled clubs should he use to hit the ball onto the green? A. 30 degrees B. 15 degrees C. 70 degrees D. 45 Degrees. Will fan and medal, don't want just an answer but an explanation to help me.
@dan815 can you help?
Nevermind, the answer is 45 degrees. I calculated it.
@Maddy1251 Your answer doesn't seem correct, I calculated and the answer came as 44.1896883 degrees. Actually u may have assumed the value of g as 10m/s^2 Or after dividing 400 by 9.8, u get 40.81632653 and u assumed it as 40.8 and got sin2theta equal to 1, whereas it should've been 0.9996. If u get sin inverse of 1, u get 90 degrees. But u should get 88.379. Finally u obtained 45 degrees, whereas it should've been 44.189, which is really far from the answer. I made a similar mistake in an exam, and I got 3 and a half out of 5 marks in that question. So don't round off values randomly, u'll get results far away.
@Debol understandable, but 45 degrees was the closest I had to chose from. But you are right.
