please help

x+3y=7 x+2y=10 What is the solution of the system of equations shown above? a.(1, -2) b.(1, 2) c.(5, 10) d. (-5, -10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wanna solve it, or just check each? probably actually easier to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you pick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you solve it can you tell me how you did it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you can subtract the second equation from the first, in a column you get \[y=-3\] right away, which means something is wrong here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a typo somewhere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i copied and pasted it from my doc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the actual answer is \((16,-3)\) which is none of your choices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you attach it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sometimes copy and paste doesn't work perhaps a minus sign was dropped or something

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

like @satellite73 said, none of those answers work anyways there is only one answer, not more, so since \((16,-3)\) works, nothing else does

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its #5 at the bottom

OpenStudy (misty1212):

lolol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

check the question directly above it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is exactly the same, and one choice is \((16,-3)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is a mistake is all, don't fret one more moment about it whoever wrote this messed up and copied the same equations twice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you so much
