In your own words, explain how polarized sunglasses work. Describe the properties of electromagnetic waves and interactions that this technology targets.
Imagine you and a friend are holding a jump rope. You take your end and swish the jump rope side to side. The jump rope make a snake like wave, horizontally. That is like a light wave moving in one 2-D plane. Now imagine you move your end of the rope up and down. now the light wave is moving up and down. That is representing another plane, a vertical one, in which the light is traveling. Non-polarized light (like sunlight and most light we see) actually travels in multiple 2-d planes, vertical, horizontal, and everything in between. Polarized sunglasses are like a tall thin doorway. If you try to walk through that door way with the jump rope moving horizontally, side to side, the rope will hit the sides of the door and not fit through. Only light moving in an up and down wave will make it through the door. Polarized sunglasses are made of material that accept only a small deviation from one plane of light. This both darkens your view (because it reduces how much light is let through the material) and it reduces glare by allowing only polarized light in (like the doorway).
Thank you so much where did u get ur info from tho
