There's a pattern if you look closely.. Starting with 1 you added 1 to it so you got 2.. When you had 2 you added 2 (so you got 4) When you had 4 you added 3.. So the pattern is +1 +2 +3 +4 and so on..

find the differences between each number 1,2,4,7,11,16 difference between 1 and 2 is 1 space difference between 2 and 4 is 2 spaces difference between 4 and 7 is 3 spaces you see a pattern here ?
