OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

2 positive numbers multiplied or divided together equals positive. A positive number and a negative number multiplied or divided together equals negative. Look at your problem: \(-63 \div (-9)\) 1. You are dividing 2 negative numbers, so the answer is positive. 2. Do the division: \(63 \div 9 = 7\) 3. Since we know the answer is positive, the answer is simply 7.
