can you tell me the true reason why the civil war started

The Civil War began due to slavery. It started because of tensions from free states and slave states. However, many debate the "real" reason the Civil War happened.

As what BecauseIamJedi stated, it occurred due to the different views segregation and slavery. Most of the North wanted to end it, but most of the south wanted it to last/keep their slaves.

But their was many other reasons on what contributed to the civil war. What we just stated as one of the biggest reasons!
