Since Teresa uses the graph - you can translate that to what Elaine is using. X is Time and Y is Pages read

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if easier, just take one point from each graph to determine pages per hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Elaine - 84 pgs in 3 hours = 84/3 = 28 Teresa 48 pgs in 2 hours = 48/2 = 24

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

oh thanks

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

but why do we need to divide it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you can get # of pages PER hour... They give you TOTAL pages read and the time - divide to get the pages PER hour

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

ah, okay. I get it now. :) ty
