Write a two paragraph essay on the following statement: “They feel that the United States has too much influence on their culture”. What exactly does that mean to you? Analyze that statement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whos they?

OpenStudy (athecool):

Canada

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe they feel that the United States has to much influence on their culture b/c.....of the lifestyle now a days??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe you should look up the influences and then compare then to Canada ...and then work your way "through it"

OpenStudy (athecool):

Well I have and here is what I have written: Canada doesn’t want their people to be influenced by the United States. They don’t want their country to be the same as the United States. They want to keep how their culture is but have too much similarity. Like post-war booms, consumerism, population, proximity, economy, industry, trading. Canada doesn’t want to be the same and have their culture change into something else. The statement “They feel that the United States has too much influence on their culture.” Means to me that the US has been through a lot of stuff with them and has have been too similar with them and feels already their culture has been changed. Also the US has once invited them to be a part of the US. But the Canadians don’t want that to happen they also don’t want their culture to change they want it to be preserved. What do you think? Help edit it please?
