OpenStudy (xofallenangelox):

Which made possible an increase in chemical energy for cell activities in organisms living on the earth? A. a change from a primitive atmosphere, which was about 70% nitrogen, to an atmosphere that was 70% oxygen B. the development of plants that could add more water vapor to the atmosphere, increasing the earth's water supply C. a change from a reducing atmosphere where there was no free oxygen to an oxidizing environment where free oxygen was abundant D. the discovery of ATP and ADP by sci

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I would say either A or D because aerobic makes more ATP than anaerobic. And the mitochondria uses aerobic since it can make up to about 32 ATP (if I remember correctly). Not exactly sure if the discovery of ATP or ADP by scientists would truly do anything since it would happen regardless.
