What do we mean when we say that there is a connection between diet and body size? What are general patterns seen in primates? Why?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Are there any choices for this question?

OpenStudy (peach3113):

I think a bigger person would need more food to fuel themselves while a smaller person wouldn't need as much food. Honestly though, it depends on a person's metabolism. I'm a small person, weighing about 100 pounds, and when I eat, I normally have meat, a vegetable, and a grain, about 3-4 servings of each. If I've been running or working a lot I'll generally be hungrier when supper time comes, because my body has started absorbing the proteins in the food I ate last faster so I can work harder. I don't know if this will help you any, but that's all I know on the subject.
